Shannon Hoppenstedt
Shannon has come to psychotherapy through a passion to heal the mind body spirit split that can happen due to trauma, stress, or mental illness. After working as a critical care nurse for 22 years, she identified the need for a more holistic approach to healing. She has been a practitioner, student and teacher of yoga and yogic philosophy for 12 years. Recently her studies and practice lie in the use of energy medicine as a way to heal trauma and mental illness, adjuncting the modality of talk therapy. She received her masters in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in 2016 and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2020. Her way of working is deep, yet playful and humorous as her belief is that healing doesn't have to be hard.
